Youri wasn't born in New Orleans, He's not the Voodoochile son.

And yet…

After the classic beginning of an adolescent from a cold industrial city rap, suburbs, punch-ups) Youri discovered voodoochile at the age of 14 and his life was turned upside-down. 
It was an illumination, a revelation…
He bought his first guitar, a classical guitar, and quickly formed his first band with his college friends.

With Led Zeppelin. Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, Cream and Janis Joplin, his life was to change radically…

From group to group, experience to experience, he threw himself completely and utterly into music.

After having made his way round most of the bars and venues of Champagne-Ardenne, he left his fellow musicians and partly moved to Brittany: he was 18.

New group SamiaCynthia, psychedelic blues rock band, concerts in the bars of Rennes, lots of festivals, a concert in Morocco in the desert of Merzouga...

The band recorded a demo… and separated.

Youri continued his journey solo, inspired by the 'mercenary troubadours' of the Delta blues.

He travelled about Peru for a number of months before disembarking one morning in Paris, determined to convert the hearts of the Parisians to the depths of Delta blues.

Every evening Youri would play the Delta Blues, solo, in the most unlikely bars and venues in Paris.

With his dobro guitar and wild voice he awoke the ghosts of Skip James, Son House, Fred McDowell… in front of a diverse and always spellbound audience.

The impression he made led to him making appearances at many blues concerts and festivals (Autour du Blues, Blues sur Seine).

But Voodoochile called to him and from then on everything became clear: psychedelic Delta blues was to be his style.

Youri, who is now 24, is returning to Brittany to work on this new alchemy and record a demo…

After turning towards the "roots"; delta blues, but also traditional Andean, African, Aboriginal, Tibetan, and American-Indian music and Inuit songs, Youri returned to his first love: psychedelic blues/rock (Pink Floyd/Hendrix/Doors…) to create an original and new mix.

Psychéblues

The meeting of two forces: dream and reality, mixed with madness and realism, pleasure and suffering, Psychéblues is the union of traditional blues with the most modern rhythms (Indian, gnawa, soufi…) and electronic effects.

The machines participate subtly to a progressive slide towards the most psychedelic of worlds. They drive in real time natural sounds that have been transformed, altered…

From now on, his concerts will mix the natural sound of his guitar and his dobro with psychedelic sounds, mixed video projections and an original lightshow.

A combination of raw energy, faith and magic, his music appeals as much to the heart and spirit as to the ears.
